- Yes, one can tweak things to get a moderate improvement, as Kevin's numbers
- show. The problem is, we need an order of magnitude improvement. Yes, I buy
- the argument that the MPW Pascal compiler produces "industrial strength" code,
- but when I look at the speeds achieved by virtually all competing compilers, as
- a manager I have trouble justifying the difference in personnel costs and
- product delivery times represented by the MPW compiler.

- The MPW compiler is good, but just too slow. Only speeding up the compiler
- will really address the problem - and I am talking about more than a bandaid!
